About Vmax3   |   Introduction
Turf Reinforcement and Erosion Control:
The Winning Combination
The Vmax3 Composite Turf Reinforcement Series features a dramatic three-dimensional matting structure which permanently anchors and reinforces the root and stem systems of vegetation under shear stress of up to 14 lb / ft2 (672 Pa), while the matrix materials provides effective immediate erosion control and offers exceptional mulching characteristics through all three phases of vegetation development.

The Vmax3 Composite Reinforcement Series offers you some important advantages that you can’t get with hard armor or “conventional” TRMs:

  • Vmax3 mattings achieve optimum performance installed without soil in-filling, eliminating the potential for washout of fill soils and the resulting adverse effects on downstream water quality.
  • Placed over the soil and seed, Vmax3 mattings offer maximum erosion protection of the underlying soil/seed before vegetation establishment, and maximum reinforcement during and after vegetation maturity.
  • Vmax3 mattings offer significant cost savings over soil in-filled TRMs and traditional concrete and riprap.
  • Vmax3 mattings empower vegetation to replace rock riprap and concrete in high-flow applications once considered too severe for "green" linings.
  • All Vmax3 mattings meet or exceed Federal Highway Administration standards for turf reinforcement mattings.
  • Vegetated channels and shorelines add natural beauty that concrete and riprap just can’t match.
  • Unlike concrete or riprap, vegetated roadside channels provide a safer environment for motorists and act as a natural filter for stormwater runoff.
